Chapter Fifty Six: Progression

First, you take the picture as a referral, even though, it is always better to draw from the real.
Second, you draw the picture with a vector software, Illustrator, Corel, or whatever else you feel comfortable with.
Third, you apply some special texture to give the feeling you really want to have.
In that case, I wanted to get a 40/50's feeling.
Try to avoid the use of black, especially on the outline, and give yourself some time to get back to it and make some modifications.

In that one, I made some major mistakes, the main one being the shade of the nose, a pretty bad one if you want to know.
But, on the other end, I like the eyes, and that odd and old feeling it gives.
Clearly, adding the textures is a great improvement, even though, this is mainly my personal opinion.
It blends the whole piece together, add some warmth, and most of all, takes away the flat comic book feeling, which is something I have been trying to get out for a while.
