Chapter Sixty Nine: Some Movies Review

I always watch tones of movies.
That is just the way it is.
Movies are a medium that I like very much, even though, I actually have no interest in experimenting it myself.
However, in the past months, I have had the chance to watch a fair amount of movies with my wife, and with my father in law, with whom, I have very similar tastes.
Here are few of them that I would like to mention here.
Note that, the comments are my personal taste and are worth for what they are worth.
Enjoy.

The Millennium Trilogy, also known as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009)

This is a trilogy made of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire & The Girl who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, the original title being Män som hatar kvinnor.
This is absolutely excellent.
Appropriate violence, outstanding acting and captivating story, the girl with the dragon tattoo will transport you in some disturbing and cray adventure like I would like to see more often.
Above all, it portrays an anarchist young woman who don't let things get in her way without reacting to it.
In a certain way, it is a lesson to all of us.
I have not read the books, but the movies are exceptional.

Le Fantome de la Liberté (1974)

Also known as The Phantom of Liberty.
A classic from Luis Buñuel.
Absolutely hilarious, a heck of a great time!
You talk about surrealism that actually means something, here we go!
Governments and religion en prennent plein la gueule, some of the situation are so good that it will be impossible to ever match them, and it is encouraging to see that Buñuel stayed honest and trusty to his origins, not like some other surrealists, to not name the guy with the ridiculous mustaches...
On a side though, in painting, the best and almost only true surrealist was Magritte, of course.
This is not a pipe people, this is a good movie!

The Social Network (2010)

Ouch.
This hurts to see.
Not only is it about that disgusting character, but it is badly played, badly directed, and horribly written.
Two hours or so of boring shit and non sense bullshit.
Do yourself a favor, don't lose your time watching it, and if you already purchased the thing, make a good fire and through it into.

The Social Network

Sleuth (1972)

Excellent, like only the Brits can do it.
Clearly from a play, two actors only carry the entire movie on their shoulders, but not any actors, two masters.
Everything is excellent.
It is a lots of fun to look at, and so different from most movies we can see nowadays.
Some scene are absurd, others are overly dramatic, but always it is well done.
The story is surprising, and keeps on changing angles.
I think, there is a lots to learn from that kind of movies.
And, most definitely, there is a lot to learn about what is being thought here!

Sleuth

Voila, that's all for today folks.
Have a good one.

Sincerely,

Serge
